transmission cars for 50 years. Although I had a lightened flywheel, I couldn't stand the ringing and low RPM vibration it had (fairly common amongst some brands). The place that did the work on mine has been doing so for about 30 years. They were meticulous about taking a safe amount off, and keeping the flywheel safe. Most of the weight is taken away from the center line. My stock flywheel weighed about 23 pounds before lightening (it was pretty used, so I assume a new one weighs somewhat more). After lightening (they also balanced and resurfaced it), it weighed about 19 pounds. The name of the place is Top End Performance, located in Chatsworth, Ca. They have a website with all there contact info. It cost me $269, w/o shipping since I live about 5 miles from them.
